On April 25, 2019, Local Democracy Agency Georgia held a final conference for our project, “Assessing the Needs of Kutaisi’s Youth” at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Kutaisi.
The goal of the meeting was to summarize the findings from research conducted during the project project, share recommendations to better meet the needs of Kutaisi’s youth, hear from experts about the challenges facing youth in Kutaisi, and provide a forum for stakeholders to discuss the issue.
Local Democracy Agency Georgia (LDA) implemented this project in cooperation with 12 members of our Youth Club.
The aim of the project was to assess the needs of youth in Kutaisi by speaking to different focus groups, compiling and sharing the identified needs with relevant stakeholders through a report, and training local youth to address those needs.
✔️As a result of the project, the civic competences of young people living in Kutaisi have been improved and the needs of the young people have been identified.
Based on the research and problems identified, LDA Georgia authored a report, including twelve recommendations, which was shared at the conference and sent to relevant stakeholders including local self-government members working on youth issues.
The project is funded through the Small Project Assistance (SPA) Program, a community-based small grants development program which is a joint initiative of USAID and Peace Corps.
