Strategy and vision

Our vision is to create a strong and independent institution of self-government in Georgia, which has sufficient authority, capabilities and resources to ensure effective management of issues of local importance and involvement of citizens in the decision-making process. To this end, it is important to strengthen civil society in the area and to pursue reforms consistently.

Strategic vision

The vision of the organization for the next 4-5 years includes:

• Local Democracy Agency Strong and recognized actor in local self-government issues, over-coverage of municipalities and geographical expansion;
• Local Democracy Agency Georgia Paid service provider;
• More specific successful examples of changes at the local policy level (inclusive policy, participation, quality social services);
• Local Democracy Agency Recognized Civil Society Resource Center in Imereti Region, which has close partnerships with similar organizations in other regions and has specific services for civic actors and actively contributes to their empowerment and increase of influence;
• Local Democracy Agency is one of the leading organizations in terms of promoting European integration and promoting regional development policy;
•  Effective and in-demand youth programs / service provider, whose replication and dissemination is successful.

One of the directions of the organization's strategy is to strengthen self-governments and increase the involvement of citizens in the decision-making process, to develop the capacity of public servants to ensure the effective functioning of self-governing units.

Priority topics are:

1. Development of inclusive policy in self-governments;

2. Development of citizen engagement mechanisms;

3. Increasing the quality and accessibility of social services;

4. Training of local public servants.
