Our ESC Volunteers Share Their Impressions from France

George Burjaliani and Marita Laghidze, the Georgian volunteers we sent to France as an ESC (European Solidarity Corps) volunteers, share their first impressions.

George: "I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work with young people from both France and other European countries. From them I get interesting information about European countries' lifestyles, cultures, arts, sports or traditions. For my part, I try to raise awareness about Georgia. I believe that this one year will help me in both professional and personal development".

Marita:"The project is very interesting and varied, enabling me to discover new skills and traits within myself and to develop in many ways. I study relationships with people of different cultures and beliefs, and share my values and experiences with others. After 2 months of training, we have officially begun acting as ambassadors of European and Olympic values and I think that this year will be amazing".

Our volunteers left Georgia in September 2019 and they will stay in Bordeaux, France for 12 months. They will participate with representatives of ten European countries as volunteers in the project ,which is organized by the non-governmental organization Maison De l'Europe Bordeaux-Aquitaine .

The main objective of this project is to raise awareness of European values for French students, adolescents, and adults through informal education.
We wish both of our volunteers a successful and interesting year!
