Since July 2015, Local Democracy Agency Georgia has implemented the project, ‘’The vision of a new generation’’ in partnership with the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association (GYLA), with the financial support of the Council of Europe.
The aim of the project was to promote inclusive and democratic electoral process in Georgia by increasing youth involvement in electoral / political life. The role of Local Democracy Agency Georgia in the project was to strengthen the gender component, promote gender equality and empower women in political life.
Within the framework of the project, 10 (ten) young active girls were selected by the organization in each city - Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Batumi. The selected participants successfully passed the “Election Development School 2015” of central election commission; it is planned to held the training on gender issues and minority rights is planned, also formed initiative groups on the basis of the State Universities of Akaki Tsereteli (in Kutaisi), Shota Meskhia (in Zugdidi) and Shota Rustaveli(in Batumi). Participants planed and conducted public discussions about election-related issues themselves.
As a result of the project it is planned to activate young girls at the local level, involve them in public-political life and electoral processes, popularize election topics among young people. The project has completed in December 2015.
