Local Democracy Agency Georgia is currently implementing the project  "The Voice of Youth in Local Self-Government". The primary aim of the project is to bolster the participation of young individuals within the Kutaisi Municipality and promote constructive dialogue with local authorities.

The project encompasses the following key activities:

Task I: Enhancing the capabilities and practical skills of young people in the Kutaisi municipality to identify issues relevant to the youth.

Within the task, informational sessions will be conducted and the establishment and training of youth initiative groups will be facilitated. Our organization will provide support to participants in identifying the primary needs of young individuals. This will involve the development of action plans and the organization of public meetings with the involvement of youth and other stakeholders from targeted universities.

Task II: Strengthening youth involvement in decision-making process at the local level within the Kutaisi Municipality by empowering the Youth Council.

As part of this task, the Youth Council of Kutaisi Municipality will be empowered. Seminars will be conducted for the members of the Youth Council, alongside coordination meetings between the initiative groups and the municipality's youth council. Additionally, meetings will be arranged with the Civil Advisory Council, the Gender Equality Council, and the Council dedicated to addressing issues pertaining to individuals with disabilities. Young individuals will also have  the opportunity to attend meetings of the City council and Council Commission. Ultimately, youth participation and engagement in the decision-making processes will be greatly enhanced.

At the final stage, a conference called "Voice of the Youth in Local Self-Government" will be held, which will be attended by project participants, local government representatives, civil society organizations, experts in the field and other interested parties.
