Regional HUB In Imereti Region

In 2017, Local Democracy Agency Georgia was selected to become a regional hub through the EU funded project «Civil Society Development Initiative.» 

To create a Hub in the regions was one of the best opportunities to mobilize and strengthen the local community.
The aim of the Hub was to promote a common space for civil society interests and people with different experiences at the regional level. Creating a hub was a way of bringing innovation to our field and pushing for innovation and creating a long-term system platform.
The creation of a regional HUB increased the influence of civil society members at the local level, established new contacts, and increased the qualification and capacity of NGO representatives; Improved outcomes that will be implemented by collaborative activities; increased the resources and capacity of civil society; to plan and organize various activities; to support for Hub member organizations in project writing, financial management and public relations. The establishment of the Hub also helped to work on innovations that enhance and reinforce the role of civil society.
In 2018-2020, within the framework of the project, Regional Hub operated in four strategic areas:
Sp 1 – To increase financial stability of civil society;
SP 2 –To increase civil society accountability and improve public mood;
SP 3 – To strengthen the skills of civil society actors;
SP 4 - To increase the role of civil society actors in public policy;

The main functions of the hub were:

- Project support – Help organizations share information about their events and programs, and provide logistical support for organizing events

- Communication with Local Actors – Consultation with local actors to ensure effective communication with civil society, local government, business, media, counseling, and advocacy groups

- Public Relations Strategy – Involve civil society in implementing a public relations strategy through media campaigns, regional forums, and other events

- Skills Development – Increase the number of possibilities for civil society to develop their capabilities and skills through different types of training, informational meetings, and consultations.

The project was implemented by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) and four
Georgian NGOs: Civil Society Institute (CSI), Training and Consulting Center (CTC),
Georgia Strategic, Development and Development Center (CSRDG), and the Education Development and Employment Center (KEDEC).

The project was funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the European Union and Germany.
