In 2015-2016, Local Democracy Agency Georgia implemented a joint initiative of Imereti Imereti municipalities with financial support of Eurasia Partnership Foundation and Imereti Regional Administration.

The purpose of the project was:
Implementation of Effective Self-Governance in Imereti Region, Promoting Citizens Engagement in Decision-Making - Through Systematic Reporting and Continuous Dialogue between Local Authorities and Population.

The project goals were effective local self-government and public participation in government decision making. The government and citizens had systematic reporting and continuous dialogue. This project improved their communication,increased citizen involvement in decision making, and increased legal awareness of journalists and CSO representatives about local government issues.
