Local Democracy Agency Georgia (LDA Georgia) is implementing the project “Civil Society STAR initiative: CSOs as Sustainable, Transparent, Accountable and Resilient Development Actors in Georgia” (2021-2025). The project aims to strengthen civil society as an independent, sustainable, transparent, and accountable development actor across Georgia.The project is funded by the European Union (EU) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).
The project is implemented by the Consortium led by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and composed of the following CSOs: Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), Civil Society Institute (CSI), Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), and Institute for European Politics (IEP).
Within the framework of the project LDA Georgia is Imereti Regional Hub.The hub is a regional platform which supports the sharing of information, experience and opportunities. Particularly, the hub spreads information about the project activities in the region, communicates with the local actors (CSOs, self-government, local business, media, volunteers, youth, and etc.) via consultation, networking, advocacy and monitoring, strengthens local CSOs, CBOs, civil activists and increases public awareness on their role and works.
The hub implements the following activities:
ACT 1. Project presentation
- Description - Presentation of planned activities; A total of 80 people will attend.
ACT 2. Training for CSOs / CBOs from Imereti region
- Description -The aim of the activity is to train CSO and CBO representatives on the following topics: fundraising; project writing; Financial management of projects. A total of 24 trainings will be held.
ACT 3. Study Visits / JOB Shadowing
- Description - Study visits of CSO’s / CBO’s representatives of Imereti region to successful civil society organizations in the regions of Western Georgia. A total of 12 visits will be arranged;
ACT 4. Consulting for CSOs / CBOs in Imereti Region
- Description - Informing and advising civil society to improve and strengthen the management of the organization;
ACT 5. Creating an SMS platform
- Description: The purpose of creating the platform is to proactively provide information to CSO and CBO representatives in the region about various activities;
ACT 6. Formation of a youth club
- Description - The aim of the activity is to change the attitudes of young people / students towards civil society and community- based organizations; Each course of seminars continues
for three months.
ACT 7 .Provide public consultation at the regional level
- Description - The purpose of public consultations is to discuss important issues at the regional level with the involvement of relevant actors. There will be 2 meetings during the year, a total of 8 public consultations.
ACT 8. Meetings with the persons responsible for relations with the non-governmental organizations of the municipalities
- Description - The aim of the activity is to promote the role of civil society in public policy. A total of 6 meetings will be held during the year in different municipalities of Imereti region.
ACT 9. Continuation of hotline service in the regional hub
- Description - Any interested person from Imereti region will be able to receive information remotely on a legal issue of interest to them / not only;
ACT 10. Periodically update the list of organizations in Imereti region
- Description - Updating the unified database of civil society and community based organizations operating in the Imereti region;
ACT 11. Assess the needs of civil society
- Description- The aim of the activity is to assess the quality and needs of the development of civil society and community based organizations at the regional level in the second and last year of project implementation.
ACT 12. Newly established organizations Development support
- Description - Will be selected in the region
- Some newly established organization (4 organizations in total), with whom the organization will work on refining its structure, developing internal management documents.
ACT 13. Organizing a Regional Civil Society Forum / Donor Conference
- Description - The aim of the activity is to increase the accountability of civil society and improve public attitudes. Connect with potential sponsors and funding seekers. A total of 2 regional forums will be held, each forum will be attended by 100 people, a total of 200 people;
ACT 14 .Project Summary Event
- Description - The purpose of the activity is to evaluate the activities carried out during 4 years and the achieved results. The meeting will be attended by 60 people.
