Local Democracy Agency Georgia (LDA Georgia) has launched "Increasing the degree of citizen involvement in local self-government" in eleven (11) municipalities of Imereti

Local Democracy Agency Georgia (LDA Georgia) started the implementation of a project "Increasing the quality of citizen involvement in local self-government" in eleven (11) municipalities of Imereti region (Baghdati, Zestaponi, Samtredia, Vani, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Sachkhere, Chiatura, Kharagauli, Terjola, Tkibuli).

The aim of the project is to increase the quality of citizen involvement in the decision-making process and ensure the accountability of local governments.

Within the framework of the project, Local Democracy Agency Georgia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kharagauli and Baghdati Municipality.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Executive Director of Local Democracy Agency Georgia, the Mayors, the Chairwoman of City Council of Kharagauli and Chairman of the City Council of Baghdati Municipality.

The meetings were also attended by the Head of the Municipal Administrative Service, the Public Relations Officer, the IT Specialist, the Chairwoman of the Gender Equality Council and the Chairman of the Council of Persons with Disabilities.

The project is being implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Georgia.
