It is important to make youth of the region Racha-lechkhumi lower Svaneti interested in agriculture for the economical and social development of this area.The purpose is to involve the youth actively in the process of economic development of municipality and to start entrepreneurial activities.

Based on the above mentioned, Local Democracy Agency Georgia has organized an agrotour in Bio- oriented beekeeping and honeycomb making farm for youth living in Oni municipality.

The young people visited Mindia Kavtaradze's beekeeping farm, blackberry and raspberry nursery, Ketevan Tomeishvili's chicken farm and greenhouse.

Within the framework of agrotour, the young people got information about the biological methods of bee care, the methods of packaging and selling products. Also, got information about the technology of making honeycomb.

The agrotour has implemented within the framework of the grant „Racha-Lechkhumi and lower Svaneti Regional Development Initiative”. Agrotour is also planned for young people living in Ambrolauri, Tsageri and Lentekhi municipalities in various successful farms.

„Racha-Lechkhumi and lower Svaneti Regional Development Initiative” is undertaken within the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) “Fostering Regional and Local Development-Phase 2” project, with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and Government of Georgia.
