Local Democracy Agency Georgia (LDA Georgia) is implementing the project "Increasing the Quality of Citizen Involvement in Local Self-Government" in eleven (11) municipalities of Imereti region (Baghdati, Zestaponi, Samtredia, Vani, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Sachkhere, Chiatura, Kharagauli, Terjola, Tkibuli).
Within the framework of the project, training was conducted with the members of the Civic Advisory Council of the Mayor of Kharagauli Municipality. The following issues were discussed at the training:
The importance of citizen involvement in the process of local self-government implementation;
Functions and responsibilities of the Civic Advisory Council;
Sharing practical experience on the activities of the Civic Advisory Council;
Samples of the Statute of the Civil Advisory Council, the minutes of the meeting, the agenda;
Council represented at the local self-government level should create a basis for establishing a tradition of consultation not only with the civil sector but also with citizens involved in the process.
