On July 22, 2022, with the support of the European Union and the organization of the Imereti Regional Hub - Local Democracy Agency Georgia (LDA Georgia), a public meeting was held on the topic "Causes of Migration and Employment Opportunities in the Imereti Region". The meeting was held in the City Hall of Tskaltubo Municipality.

The meeting was opened by the executive director of the organization, Nino Khuhua.

Speakers invited to the public meeting spoke on the following topics:

International Organization for Migration (IOM) regional representative in the Imereti region, Natia Akhalaia - causes of internal and external migration in the regions;

Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), chairwoman of the board, Lika Kiladze - employment opportunities in the Imereti region and existing challenges;

Representative of the State Employment Promotion Agency in the Imereti region, Eka Lezhava- state policy in the direction of development of youth employment opportunities.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the civil society organizations of the Imereti region, the youth department of the municipality and young people.

Imereti Regional Hub plans to organize similar meetings in the coming months, where various topics / issues for the public will be discussed.

The goal of the Imereti Regional Hub is to strengthen civil society as an independent, sustainable, transparent, and accountable development actor across Georgia.

The meeting was held within the framework of the project "Civil Society STAR Initiative," with the support of the European Union and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
