Local Democracy Agency Georgia (LDA Georgia) is implementing the project "Increasing the Quality of Citizen Involvement in Local Self-Government" in eleven (11) municipalities of Imereti region (Baghdati, Zestaponi, Samtredia, Vani, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Sachkhere, Chiatura, Kharagauli, Terjola, Tkibuli).

Thematic meetings with members of the Municipal Gender Equality Councils are continuing. Meetings were held with the members of the Gender Equality Councils of Tkibuli, Baghdati and Terjola, who were presented with the results of the survey, the identified problems and the developed recommendations. At the meeting, the needs identified as a result of the research were discussed. The members of the councils expressed their views about the significant challenges that exist in the areas of local self-government.

Councils represented at the local self-government level should create a basis for establishing a tradition of consultation not only with the civil sector but also with citizens involved in the process.
